This is the general result from MEME analysis, where the average substitutions per site in the NPC1-201 protein. e.g. The Rhinolophus ferrumequinum has a substitution number of around 1.5, and the Pteropus vampyrus have ~3.7 substitutions per site. The two species Pan troglodytes and Gallus gallus have the highest substitution number per site among the 10 species studied, which are higher than 6.0. Other species have relatively low substitution numbers, Bos taurus has around 0.2, Homo sapiens also has the number around 0.2. Gorilla gorilla gorilla and Rhinopithecus roxellana have a similar substitution per site which are smaller than 0.1. Canis lupus familiaris has a substitution number around 0.4. The results indicate NPC1-201 in all studied species undergo selections with different pressure among different species.
