Steady-state L8 mRNA levels were measured using total RNA isolated from skin and upper and lower sections of blubber. () Diagram of the specific tissue regions examined. Animals from five geographic locations were compared: QCS ( = 5), Vancouver (Van; = 8), Smith Island ( = 7), Hornby Island ( = 7), and Gertrude Island (GI; = 6).
