Gene expression data was taken from the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) and scaled and centered within culture type (adherent or suspension) and culture medium (DMEM or RPMI). Four cell lines were chosen at random and their gene expression profiles (red) were compared to a normal distribution with a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 0.5 (green).
