The allocation of production time in a confectionery factory

The objective of this study was to provide the management of the firm involved with a means of scheduling production in a unit where several different types of product are produced. For the purposes of planning, these lines are divided into three exclusive groups, the division being according to the shaping machine required during the final stages of manufacture. On any day the planned production must be one line from any two of these groups. [Continues.]
