This thesis is concerned with the transient torques, currents, acceleration and speed experienced by an induction motor with a double-cage rotor circuit, following various supply-switching operations. The analytical content is based on a double-cage equivalent circuit, and since several of the parameters of this are highly dependent upon slip it is necessary to develop special procedures to enable their variations to be established.
