After the 1998 reform in Indonesia, there has been a rise in intolerance and religious movements among mass organizations, leading to social friction. The Ministry of Religious promotes religious moderation as crucial for the diversity of spiritual life. This qualitative, sociological research explores the concept and practice of religious moderation within different mass organizations. Each organization has its own interpretation of religious moderation, with common indicators including nationalism, tolerance, non-violence, and local cultural accommodation.
