U.S. Midterm Election Twitter Dataset 2018

This dataset includes all tweets from September 17th, 2018 until November 6th, 2018 posted by, mentioning or replying to any of the Twitter accounts, that belongs to one of the candidates who was running for the United States' House of Representatives in 2018.

In total, our data consists of 1.7 million tweets and 6.5 million retweets of candidates from 1 million users (including the candidate accounts).

The analysis of this dataset is going to appear in papers “Towards Measuring Adversarial Twitter Interactions against Candidates in the US Midterm Elections” at ICWSM 2020 and “Characterizing Twitter Users Who Engage in Adversarial Interactions against Political Candidates” at CHI 2020.
