Trichinella sp. 17WV049-YT159 isolate:17WV049-YT159 Genome sequencing and assembly

dataset
posted on 2024-06-11, 07:13 authored by USDA-Agricultural Research Service
This putative new lineage of Trichinella was discovered in a wolverine (Gulo gulo) while surveying samples for freeze-resistant strains of Trichinella. This isolate increases the global diversity of Trichinella by nearly 10% and helps to illuminate the dispersal and speciation of Trichinella over evolutionary timescales.
