The effects of moose browsing on balsam fir and forest recovery vary with bioclimatic and human use across the island of Newfoundland

The included code can calculate the results presented in our manuscript on moose and forest interactions on the island of Newfoundland. The code sections are numbered in their order of use and subsections identified with letters indicate functions or analyses that are called internally within other scripts.

The data necessary to conduct these analyses is often publicly available, but some are only available if you directly contact the Ministry of Forestry, Fisheries, and Agriculture for Newfoundland and Labrador. We have included the relevant notes throughout the code and description.
