Supplementary data for Button et al. Multiple pathways to herbivory underpinned deep divergences in ornithischian evolution

Download (2.06 GB)

Folder contains surfaces and model files of reconstructed skulls of ornithischian taxa as supplementary data for the paper Button, D.J., Porro, L.B., Lautenschlager, S., Jones, M.E.H. & Barrett, P.M. 2023. Multiple pathways to herbivory underpinned deep divergences in ornithischian evolution. Current Biology 33, 1-9.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cub.2022.12.019

See this paper. for more information on how these skull reconstructions were produced.

Each taxon folder contains two sets of surfaces:

1. "osteological_model" contains full-resolution surfaces of the retrodeformed skulls generated within the paper. Unified surfaces of the whole skull are provided, as are those for the cranium and mandible. Within these, separated surfaces for each material (bones, sutures, and teeth) are also provided.

2. "biomech_model" contains downsampled surfaces as imported into Strand7 for finite-element modelling. Separate surfaces for the modelled materials (bone, suture, and teeth) are provided for both the cranium and mandible. Loaded Strand7 model files for the cranium and mandible of each taxon are also provided.

Surfaces are provided as both .stls and .plys. For alternative formats, additional files, or any questions, please contact David Button (david.button@bristol.ac.uk).
