All the 10 genotypes derive from a mutation accumulation (MA) experiment with Eshcerichia coli B REL 606 mutS. Growth performance of each of the MA lines was estimated by the growth yield at stationary phase and calibrated by the ancestral strain. The assays were carried out on six carbon-substrates (fructose, galactose, glucose, glycerol, maltose and trehalose) across 10 temperatures (23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39 and 41°C). File data.temp.niche.xlsx gives growth performance data ,where Sheet 1 gives the mean values and Sheet 2 shows values with all three technical replicates. File SNP_info.xlsx gives the information of each SNP mutation.
