This dataset represents phenology observations of several tree species in Slovenia from 2004 to 2019 for some tree species, and 2010 to 2019 for other tree species.

The following tree species (or group of tree species) are included in this dataset: European beech (Fagus sylvatica), silver birch (Betula pendula), lime tree (mainly Tilia platyphyllos), common ash (Fraxinus excelsior), oak (pedunculate oak and sessile oak, i.e. Quercus robur and Quercus petraea, respectively) and aspen (Populus tremula)

The dataset is contained in a Microsoft Excel workbook with two worksheets, one (named "Phenology observations") with the station names and codes as well as the actual phenology observations (start of season and end of season), and the second worksheet (named "Coordinates & site description") contains geographic coordinates of each station with site characteristics of each combination of station and tree species.

The column names are the following:
- Station code: unique for each station;
- Station name: unique for each station, matching one-one the station codes;
- Year: year of the observation;
- Species: tree species latin name. A station may have one or several tree species;
- Date SOS: date of start of season, formatted dd/mm/yyyy;
- Doy SOS: day of the year of the start of season;
- Woy SOS: week of the year of the start of season;
- Date EOS: date of end of season, formatted dd/mm/yyyy;
- Doy EOS: day of the year of the end of season;
- Woy EOS: week of the year of the end of season;
- Latitude;
- Longitude;
- Aspect: the 9 classes represent the standard 1 to 8 categorization, i.e. N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW, with -1 for flat areas;
- Slope: in degrees;
- Altitude: in meters

Note that the start of season and end of season here represent Biologische Bundesanstalt, Bundessortenamt und Chemische Industrie codes 11 and 94, respectively.
