This dataset contains microbial biomass (bacteria, fungi, ciliates,testate amoebae, rotifers and nematodes) and microbial traits (growth-yield, resource acquisition and stress traits) extracted from Sphagnum mosses collected in five peatlands along a latitudinal gradient from northern Sweden to southern France to represent a wide range of edaphic and climate conditions in July 2018.
