Raw data supporting the manuscript "Negative effects of a zoanthid competitor limit coral calcification more than ocean acidification" for review at Royal Society Open Science.

The coral Porites spp. and the zoanthid Zoanthus sp., are common benthic competitors on coral reefs in Bocas del Toro Panama.

Corals and zoanthids were exposed simultaneously to simulated ocean acidification and competition treatments in the lab, and response variables were measured after 8 weeks of exposure: growth via changes in buoyant weight (i.e., net calcification), growth via changes in polyp count, and photosynthetic efficiency via PAM fluorometry.

The data included here are the raw biological responses to pH and competition treatments.
