This is a report on the inventory of crop wild relatives in the Abisko-Torneträsk area in Sweden. Within this area, three main parts were selected for detailed study. The selection of sites was made with the aim to include as many species as possible from the Nordic CWR priority list (Fitzgerald et al, 2021). The following areas were inventoried: South of Kopparåsen (Loktacohkkas norhtern slope), eastern side of Gearggevaggi, Gohpasjohka, west side (Björkliden) and Boarrasacohkka. An inventory was also done of the site with Elymus mutabilis in Abisko national park.

The main objectives for the inventory were: 1) To provide background information for recommendations on future management of the selected areas and to promote the conservation of crop wild relatives; 2) Test methods for selection of sites and methods for inventory; 3) Identify populations suitable for in situ conservation.

The inventory is part of the project Conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources in the Nordic countries, which is a collaboration among all Nordic countries and funded by the Nordic Council of Minister’s Nature-based Solutions programme.
