The European Commission's Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF) was asked to elaborate the possibilities to assess the socio-economic impacts of the TAC and quota proposal in the longer-term context of e.g. the Maximum Sustainable Yield policy and full implementation of the Landing Obligation (LO). In addition, STECF was asked to elaborate a methodology for incorporating multispecies interactions (e.g. predator-prey interactions) and choke species impact in the context of multispecies management plans (e.g. North Sea) and the implementation of the LO. The methodology should be able to provide results at the level of regions dependent on fisheries.
