(A) Reverse-transcription analysis of the effect of MtvR on the mRNA levels of uhpA. Total RNA was obtained from late-exponentially growing cells of the E. coli strains WT and WT expressing MtvR (+pMtvR), or the Δhfq mutant (Δhfq). Reverse-transcription experiments were also performed for uhpT, induced by UhpA. The 16S and 23S rRNA bands were used as loading controls.
