In the figure, each black point represents one individual comparison result between the yields of wheat for the mulching practices and the control. The points lying on the 1:1 line indicate that the yield of wheat responded similarly to the mulching practices and the control, whereas the points distributed above or below the line indicate a positive or negative effect of the mulching practices on the yield of wheat, respectively. FM: flat mulching; RFM: ridge–furrow mulching; WSM: wheat straw mulching; MTMC: mulching with two materials combined; MOM: mulching with other materials.
