Mice lacking MMP-8 show a more severe injury with increased neutrophils within the lung tissue (C-D) and bronchalveolar lavage fluid (N = 4/group, E). However, there were no differences in survival (F, n = 9 per genotype, log rank test p = 0.52). *p<0.05 in post-hoc tests.
