(A) Growth properties of wild-type (WT) HAP5 yeast strains MSS1(PS), mss1(PS), MSS1(PR), mss1(PR) and their individual HAP5 overexpression (OE) strains. (B) Growth properties of WT HAP5 yeast strains MSS1(PS), mss1(PS), MSS1(PR) and their individual HAP5 knockout (KO) strains. Series dilutions of the yeast strains were spotted on YPD plates in the absence (−) or presence (+) of 300 µg/ml neomycin and incubated at 30°C. The experiment was performed three times with similar results. (C) The yeast cells were cultured in 30 µg/ml neomycin-supplemented YPD medium for 16 h and the cell density was determined. Error bars represent standard error from three independent determinations. **P<0.01.
