Fixed Point Loci When the Activities are Proportional

The locus depends on the parameter ratio <i>ρ</i>. When <i>ρ</i> < 1 fixed points are located in the lower half of the plane ( ) and vice versa. We can infer from the assumptions in <a href="" target="_blank">Equations 5</a> and <a href="" target="_blank">6</a> that as fixed points approach the lower-right corner of the phase plane, activity increases. Thus, decreasing <i>ρ</i> changes the overall behavior from a depressing to a facilitating one. </p>
