Atorvastatin inhibits LPS-induced inflammatory response in HUVECs.

HUVECs grown to 80% confluence were treated with atorvastatin (10 µM) alone, or in the presence of either MVA (100 µM), FPP (10 µM) or GGPP (10 µM) overnight, followed by 100 ng/mLLPS for 6 hours. The medium was harvested, and IL-6 and IL-8 concentrations determined by ELISA. Data are expressed as means ± S.E. (n = 6 samples for control group; n = 8 for LPS treatment group), * p<0.05.
