Adoptive transfer of in vivo activated Tregs did not improve survival after CLP.

DEREG mice received 250 µg CD28 SA i.v. three days before their spleens were explanted and in vivo pre-activated CD4⁺Foxp3⁺ Tregs were isolated. 3×10⁵ of those cells were adoptively transferred into female C57BL/6 recipients (i.v.). (i) Untreated CD4⁺Foxp3⁺ and (ii) untreated CD4⁺Foxp3⁻ cells were transferred as controls. 18G CLP was performed immediately after the cell transfer and survival was monitored every three hours for three days.
