The X-DOMES (Cross-Domain Observational Metadata for Environmental Sensing) project promotes the standards-based description of environmental sensor metadata, including provenance, is paramount to automate data discovery, access, archival, processing, as well as quality control and assessment. This presentation introduces the project scope and objectives.
