INTRODUCTION. HARD ART OF COOPERATION
The category of the art of cooperation brings out tendencies observed in artistic practices at the turn of XX and XXI century, referred to as “the social turn”. In this sense all the texts in this volume contribute  to the introduction and validation of the “art of cooperation” category for the purpose of Polish scientific reflection and debates on modern art. Are  we dealing with a new paradigm of thinking about public art; that is the question that accompanies the texts. The goal set by the authors for the volume is also to work out a critical answer to “familiar” concepts set in Anglo-Saxon art theory like participatory art, community-based art or relational art. Even though cooperation is their distinctive feature they differ in terms of level, form of engagement as well as distribution and results  among the actors of the artistic process.
