In this blog post, the writer discusses the impact of F.F. Bosworth’s revival meetings on the ministry of P.C. Nelson, who was a master linguist, Pentecostal theologian, and founder of Southwestern Bible School (now Southwestern Assemblies of God University). Nelson had served for many years as a Baptist preacher when he experienced healing in answer to prayer. That was followed by his baptism in the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue. After hearing about people being miraculously healed in Bosworth's meetings, Nelson set out to visit his meetings and investigate the reports. What he saw and experienced in the meetings had a profound impact on his life. He discovered, among other things, that the age of miracles had not passed. He also came to see that what God was doing in Bosworth's ministry, he would also do in his own ministry.
Not long after working with Bosworth, Nelson launched his own ministry of healing. He left his pastorate and became a healing evangelist. He also wrote a popular book on the topic entitled, Does Christ Heal Today?
