Visualization 4.tif (5.08 MB)
Visualization. 4. Evaporation process of 10 μL drops containing 0.1 mg/mL PS NPs on original (a) and LASH Ti surface (b).
On the original Ti surface, the initial drop has
a low CA and a large CL. With the progress of evaporation, the CA slowly decreases,
and the CL with diameter of 4.37 mm shows no reduction . This is because the
drop is pinned on the surface without movement. The final deposition diameter is
3.9 mm, which corresponds to an area of 11.95mm2. On the LASH
surfaces, initially the drop has a relatively large CA (161°) and a small contact
diameter (1.05 mm). During the evaporation process, the CA is kept constant
almost, but the CL continuously reduces. The final deposition diameter is only 0.24
mm, corresponds to an area of 0.045mm2, which is 265.56 times
smaller than that on the original surface.
