Vegetable seed kit distribution in East Africa

Between 2013 and 2017, WorldVeg and partners distributed 42,514 seed kits with a total of 183,193 seed samples to smallholder farmers in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. The vegetable crops that were included are: Amaranthus cruentus, Solanum scabrum, Solanum aethiopicum, Vigna unguiculata, Brassica carinata, Abelmoschus esculentus, Cleome gynandra, Corchorus olitorius, Solanum lycopersicum, Cucurbita moschata, Amaranthus dubius, Amaranthus tricolor, Glycine max, Solanum spp., Solanum anguivi, Solanum villosum, Amaranthus hypochondriacus, Crotalaria brevidens, Capsicum annuum, and Moringa oleifera.
