Towards A Novel Non-Viral Gene Delivery System Based On Adenovirus Genome

thesis

Gene therapy is a new form of medical treatment that delivers genetic "information” to treat diseases. In order to achieve a good outcome, a gene delivery system must reach the appropriate location inside the target cell after administration by injection. The project examined different ways to enhance the delivery of genetic information and investigated how the information is processed to achieve the desired therapeutic outcome. New delivery technologies were explored, using mechanisms used by viruses for inspiration. The results identified new opportunities to improve the performance of gene delivery systems to treat diseases such as cancer.
