The blue bubble is initially located at the point of minimum (i.e.negative) Gaussian curvature, the green bubble is initially located at the flat point of the torus and the red bubble is at the point of maximum (i.e. positive) Gaussian curvature. The bubbles then move to the region of maximum Gaussian curvature to minimise their energy.
