This article aims to develop an idea about the
importance of information in health and the problems that may cause false news,
also known as fake news in public
health cases. The example taken for the development of the present work was the
case of fake news about vaccination
against measles, poliomyelitis and yellow fever, which impacted mass
vaccination campaigns that aimed to protect the Brazilian population against
diseases which had already been controlled in the past and which, due to a lack
of vaccination, are at risk of resurgence, affecting the health of the present
and future generations.
