Studying the work of Scientists: Reporting on Two NSF Projects focusing on science practices

This poster reports on two NSF funded projects. The first project describes the infrastructuring practices of distributed scientists focusing on how scientists use ICT's to work from a distance. The second study examines the different models for developing data organizations (or large scale infrastructure) that centralize and distribute scientific resources for sharing and reuse. The study discusses the social and cultural foundations under which data organizations may become infrastructural to science practice.
