Pump-probe microscopy of ultra short pulsed laser ablation

In this movie, shadowgraph images at different delays are presented, where each frame represents one additional deposited pulse. The single pulse energy was chosen to 50 µJ with a pulse duration of 100 fs. The repetition rate was set to 1 Hz and the beam was focused by a lens with a focal length of 100 mm to the sample surface.
