Spore-forming, the Gram-positive Bacillus pumilus is an aerobic bacterium that commonly lives in the soil. Given its resistance to a variety of environmental stressors, B. pumilus spores are also a known cause of food poisoning. This work sought to provide basic information on the proteome of B. pumilus SAFR-032 through the parsing of its UniProt proteome file with an in-house MATLAB proteome analysis software. Specifically, the resulting proteome database of the organism comprises protein name, amino acid sequence, number of residues of protein, molecular weight, and nucleotide sequence of protein. Overall, the proteome data provided should inform the design of experiments to better understand the pathogenic mechanisms of B. pumilus as well as factors that influence on sporulation in this hardy bacterium.
