This dataset includes a total of 203 closed cases where ORI deemed no research misconduct or insufficient evidence for research misconduct. In 7 of these cases, there was only an ORI investigation, but for the remaining 196 this an institutional investigation also occurred. Of these 196, 30 institutional investigations did find research misconduct that ORI subsequently overturned (i.e., 15.3%). 24 of these cases that were overturned pertained to falsification/fabrication, and 6 pertained to plagiarism.
