Meaning from All Directions: Five Propositions Toward Queering the Figure in the Round

This practice-led project investigates how queerness may be expressed in abstract sculptural language, using the format of the figure-in-the-round sculpture as an arena of experimentation. The research was motivated by a desire to find ways of expressing queerness outside of the explicitly legible tropes associated with the art historical category of queer art and artists.
