Any type of content formally published in an academic journal, usually following a peer-review process.
Peer review is a process in which academic research is subjected to critical evaluation by other academics. This handout describes the complexities of the peer review process and the quality control mechanism that supports it. The handout includes tips from researchers and editors on responding to and conducting peer review. The handout supports a course of material developed by Queensland University of Technology (QUT) available at http://www.orei.qut.edu.au/training/appr.jsp
