Lifelong plastic changes to the brain are possible through behavioural changes, training and learning. Above all, they are based on changes to the strength of connection between nerve cells . In addition, research results in recent years show that depending on the scale and location of the damage, different neural plasticity mechanisms aid the nervous system to compensate for functional breakdowns in an impressive way.
