Session Description:

Introducing the PARTHENOS eHumanities and eHeritage Training Suite and Webinar Series: Research Data Special

Within eHumanities and eHeritage research, activities and issues around planning, organizing, storing, and sharing data and other research results and products are gaining momentum. Knowledge and skills related to Research Data Management (RDM) play a key role for conducting effective and sustainable projects in these fields. Therefore, during this PARTHENOS Training Teaser Session Ulrike Wuttke (University of Applied Sciences Potsdam/PARTHENOS) will present training resources developed by PARTHENOS (Pooling Activities, Resources and Tools for Heritage E-research Networking, Optimization and Synergies) such as the PARTHENOS Training Suite and the PARTHENOS eHumanities and eHeritage Series with a special focus on Research Data Management.

The PARTHENOS Training Suite has been developed to transfer knowledge about the roles, functions, and potentials of Digital Research Infrastructures in Digital Humanities and Heritage related E-research to the next generation of researchers and practitioners. At the moment the following training modules are available online: “Introduction to Research Infrastructures”, “Management Challenges in Research Infrastructures”, “Introduction to Collaborations in Research Infrastructures” and “Manage, Improve and Open up your Research Data“. The modules contain a wide variety of training materials such as video lectures, presentation slides, exercises, explanations of key principles, brochures, and sample syllabi. The materials are tailored as Open Educational Resources for purposes of self-learners as well as for educators/trainers.

The PARTHENOS eHumanities and eHeritage Webinar Series is a virtual lecture format developed by PARTHENOS Training. The first five webinars included topics such as theoretical and practical reflections on digital and analogue research infrastructures, opportunities and challenges of eHumanities and eHeritage, finding, working and contributing to Research Infrastructure collections, standards, the FAIR principles, ontologies, tools and Virtual Research Environments (VREs), and new publication and dissemination types. The webinar recordings and accompanying resources can be accessed via the PARTHENOS eHumanities and eHeritage Webinar Series Module.

The H2020 funded project PARTHENOS aims at strengthening the cohesion of Heritage related E-research through a thematic cluster of European Research Infrastructures, integrating initiatives, E-infrastructures and other world-class infrastructures by building bridges between different, although tightly interrelated fields.
