IfA 2014 Talk : Searching for Brown Dwarfs in Young Moving Groups.
A presentation on the latest developments brought to the "'Bayesian Analysis for Nearby Young AssociatioNs" (BANYAN) tool that aims at searching for late-type objects in nearby, young associations and moving groups such as TW Hydrae, Beta Pictoris and Tucana-Horologium. This includes a review of the findings that this new method has generated. The current status of the BANYAN II All-Sky Survey (BASS) is also presented, in which we followed several hundreds of new, late > M5 candidates to nearby moving groups. Finally, we present a review of the discovery of several new L0 - L4 young brown dwarfs, and the very recent direct imaging discovery of a young exoplanet companion.
