INFLUENCE OF THE PROCESSING CONDITIONS ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF BETA-C TITANIUM ALLOY

thesis
posted on 2018-08-13, 17:07 authored by XIGEN ZHOU
Several properties are critical for a Beta-C titanium fastener. These properties include tensile strength, shear strength and threaded fatigue performance. In engineering designs, it is a big challenge to improve several properties at the same time due to some intrinsic limitations of the microstructure effect on these properties. So an initiative to improve all of these three properties at the same time requires an in depth understanding of the processing and alloying effect on the microstructure of the alloy and the relationship between the microstructure and properties.
