Exhibition Road (The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Street Nameplate)
In contrast to the modern design of the City of Westminster street nameplate, which conformed with the so-called 'new typography', the equivalent replacement sign for The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, seen here on the right, resembled 'old typography'. Contrasting typefaces, centred layout, and punctuation characterized this approach.
