Dove sculptures at school: Traditional symbol of peace sparks fierce battle over Islamic religion
This article offers a look at a religious conflict between two medical professionals in a small town in Pennsylvania. Dr. James Teeter, an evangelical Christian, strongly opposed a sculpture of two doves created by Dr. M. Haq, a Muslim, for the Waynesboro Area School District. Teeter argued the doves represented Islam. Haq disagreed, stating the doves were a symbol of peace.
