Development of a Series of P(CH₂NCHR)₃ and Trisubstituted 1,3,5-Triaza-7-phosphaadamantane Ligands

The synthesis and structure of a series of novel phosphine ligands derived from the condensation of P(CH₂NH₂) with aldehydes are described. Depending on the reaction conditions, either substituted tris(iminomethyl)phosphine, P(CH₂NCHR)₃, or 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane structures substituted at the “lower rim”, PTAR₃, are obtained.
