The density and speed of sound data were determined for various binary compositions of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([Bmim][NTf2]) (1) and 2-methoxyethanol (2) at different temperatures. These data were utilized to calculate different acoustic and thermodynamic parameters. The variations in these parameters were analyzed to know the behavior of molecular interactions present between the chemical species. The Redlich–Kister equation was used to estimate the deviation between the calculated and experimental excess values. Furthermore, experimental FT-IR analysis was also used to study the interactions between the chemical species.
