Deciphering the role of host galectins in host-parasite interactions

thesis
posted on 2017-07-31, 05:13 authored by DHANASEKARAN SAKTHIVEL
This thesis provides new understanding of how sheep develop resistance to parasite infection. By using a biochemical approach this thesis describes how a critical molecule in the digestive tract of the sheep is able to mediate resistance and kill a highly pathogenic parasite. This work will help develop new vaccines, drugs and diagnostics to help improve animal production.
