Convenient Synthesis of Green Diisoindolodithienylpyrromethene−Dialkynyl Borane Dyes

Versatile dyes based on diisoindolodithienylpyrromethene substituted at the boron center by alkynylaryl chromophores have been developed that efficiently fluorescence in the near infrared. Fast intramolecular energy transfer from the appended alkynyl units to the central core provides Stokes shifts above 16 000 cm^-1.
