Functioning as Euroamerican fantasies they become an expression of collective anxieties. Based on works, which continue the trend such as Michael Mann’s “The Last of the Mohicans”, Mel Gibson’s “Apocalypto” or Terrence Malick’s “The New World”, the author of the
article shows how the stereotypes are breached in modern independent cinema represented by Randy Redroada’s “The Doe Boy”.
