Character matrix used by Farke et al. (2014) for phylogenetic analysis of a specimen referred to the alligatoroid Leidyosuchus (RAM 14572, Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology, Claremont, California, USA).

The file is in TNT format (Goloboff et al., 2008), with 179 characters and 99 OTUs (operational taxonomic units). The matrix and character list were derived from that published by Brochu et al. (2012), with the additions of RAM 14527, Diplocynodon deponiae, D. elavericus, and D. ungeri. The coding for character 62 was changed from 1 to 0 in Leidyosuchus canadensis (Farke et al., 2014).

The matrix was run in TNT 1.1 with the following settings: unordered characters, 1,000 replicates with 1,000 trees saved per replicate, TBR (Tree Bisection Reconnection), and Bernissartia as outgroup. 23,040 most parsimonious trees of 685 steps each were identified.

For full methods and results, please see Farke et al. (2014).
