This Genetic Management Plan (GMP) describes genetic considerations for reintroducing spring-run Chinook salmon to the San Joaquin River in the Central Valley of California. Particular consideration was given to conserving and monitoring genetic diversity for the source, hatchery, and reintroduced populations. The GMP was created to provide the San Joaquin River Restoration Program with documented genetic guidance.
